Hi everyone!
We are hoping to use keywords in order to direct patrons with promos codes to a page that will list just the performances eligible for discounts. I'm thinking that keywords will be the best way to do this, but if we add new keywords to performances, will they automatically show up in the Keyword Filter list on the main events/ listing page? We wouldn't want all general public to be able to see those specific keywords.
Has anyone done this before on TNEW? Thanks!
Hi Kari,
We do this. Are you on v6 or v7? I ask because it would differ slightly depending
you can create a direct link using keywords by adding
?k=[keyword ID] in v6 or
?kid=[keyword ID] in v7
I'm happy to send an example if it helps.
Cheers,
MIchaela
Absolutely, we do it all the time. You just need to make sure that these keywords are not of the same Keyword Category or Categories that are assigned to appear in the filter widget.
I should have read this more carefully...if you use a keyword filter already (we don't) I am not sure if they will show up automatically or not. I read something about it somewhere recently, let me look and see if I can find it again.
Gawain,
So would you created an additional keyword category like TN_Express_Promos? And then use that as the category for these "hidden" keywords?
Yeah, just like that. We use something like "Additional TNEW Keywords", but anything that isn't in your standard (probably something like "TN Express Web Performances") category will work.
Great, thank you so much! We'll try it out and see how it works
