I am hoping to get some opinions from theatre/performing arts venues about your mobile apps. How many of you have a mobile app? Have you seen an increase in ticket purchases or engagement since adding the app? How much time does it take to maintain the app? How much time did it take to get up and running?
If you don't have a mobile app, have you thought about getting one?
Any information you have to offer would be helpful.
At Philharmonia we're looking at progressive web apps (https://developers.google.com/web/progressive-web-apps/) rather than a native app which is costly to setup separately as you need to create iOS and Android versions, progressive web apps extend the functionality of your standard site to allow for notifications, offline access, icon on the users home screen and other 'native' features.The other plus is that when you update your site it follows through to the app as well so you don't need to patch bugs across platforms in the same way.Winning all round really.
