Special Status message on TNEW

Has anyone seen this message on the TNEW cart page?

"One or more items in your cart are not available under the special status provided by your account. You have not changed to this special status.

Click here to change to the special status and remove the ineligible items from your cart."

We're also seeing the LTR_TN_EXPRESS_WEB_CONTENT NotOnSale_Text message on some performance TNEW pages when already logged into an account (although they are not showing if the customer has now already logged in).

Any ideas why either of these messages are showing when the performance is on sale?

Thanks,

Clare

  • Hi Clare,

Christopher Short with the Web Products Support Team here.

The message that you're seeing is a new feature that was released with TNEW v6. If a customer has created a cart, and upon login is eligible to change to a different mode of sale because of a ranking on their constituent record, TN Express Web will offer the customer the option of keeping the current mode of sale, or choosing the mode of sale associated with the ranking.

As for the NotOnSale_Text appearing on performance pages, that text generally appears when the MOS or price type dates are inactive, or if the On Sale check box for a performance is not checked. You might find the Troubleshooting documentation under Site Usage and Management a helpful resource for this issue.

In regards to the site not showing if a customer is logged into your TNEW site, that appears to be hidden by your self-hosted TNEW Design Template and/or TNEW.css file. Your web developers should be able to make some adjustments there to allow this information to populate on the site.

If you find that you continue to experience these issues, please submit a TASK ticket and someone from the team will be happy to assist you.

Cheers, and have a great weekend!

    Clair,

That first message "One or more items in your cart..." appears under the following condition.

    • When Transfer Cart is called (often when logging in, but in some other cases too), it will set the session mode of sale to the mode of sale attached to the cart's items (presumably, in this case, the default)
    • If the user has a ranked mode of sale (say, member), they may lose that new mode of sale and pricing benefits...so;
    • If:
    • the Mode of Sale before the transfer is not the same as after the transfer OR
    • the mode of sale before the transfer is not the  webdefault subscription mode of sale OR
    • the post transfer mode of sale is not the webdefault subscription mode of sale
    • Then:
    • We try to call ChangeModeOfSaleEx.
    • This can throw an exception if the items in the cart are not all available in the MOS we tried to change to, and we present this message.

Presumably, the ranked mode of sale is also the cause of you seeing the NotOnSale text message.  These would be performances not available in your current mode of sale.

    Hope that helps.

  • Hi! I know this is an old thread, but a patron just reported seeing the "One or more items are not available under a special status provided by your account. You have not changed to a special status. Click here to change to a special status and remove the ineligible items from your cart." message for the first time.

We don't currently use rankings or have any pricing rules or anything like that where a mode of sale change would occur - I am glad to put in a TASK ticket if needed, but wondered if there could be any other reason this message might be displayed?

    Thanks,

    Angela
