We have select price types that are available to a web promo MOS. We create the promo in TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO and associated it to the correct source code and MOS.
In the performances, we add an offer with date limits. However, the promo code and the offers are technically not completely expiring on the date we selected.
It's important to note that the price types are not actually active online. Keep reading and you'll see what I mean.
If a patron enters the promo phrase for an offer that is active, all the price types with expired offers show up online. However, if the patron attempts to use one of these expired price types, they receive an error message that simply says There's been an error. Please retry your request.
The fact that the price types show up on an expired offer is the real issue.
Does anyone know how to combat this? Do we have to place a "negative" offer over the existing offers or is there is a better way?
I wanted to jump in to add a clarification on how the active dates on an offer work.
Within the offer active dates, the source on the offer must be entered to access the price type. Outside the offer active dates the price type can be accessed without entering the source. In most cases offer active dates should match the price type active dates so that the price type remains locked by the offer as long as the price type is active. If an offer is for a limited time, but you want the price type to remain active after the offer is done (so that it can be used in the box office or for other offers), set the offer active dates to match the price type active dates but set the end date on the source used by the offer to the end date of the promotion. Doing so will prevent the source from being used in an order to unlock the price type after the promotion is complete. Alternately another offer can be added to lock the price type using a source that is not communicated to constituents (i.e. the negative offer or suppression promo code already discussed in this thread).

Hello All!
I've been pulling my hair out all day trying to figure out where I've gone wrong so I'm hoping someone here can help me.
I've created offers in the past using a "locking offer" to hold the price type so it isnt available to everyone online all the time without a promo code. This year, I cant get these "locking offers" to lock the price type and it is appearing as soon as I associate the MOS with the price type that I want hidden.
I've checked to make sure the source is in the right appeal, that the source and promo code is linked, that the security permissions are given, that the end dates of the locking offer span all season....I'm out of ideas!
Anything anyone out there has to help would be fantastic!
Thanks!
Kyle
