Hi Folks,
Normal 0 false false false EN-AU X-NONE X-NONE
We are currently exploring the option of selling tickets to our fundraising events through our website via T-New. Where we have a ticket price that includes a donation component, we are at a loss as to how we might automatically generate a tax deductible receipt for the donation component without having to split the payments at checkout. Any suggestions are most welcome!
Many thanks,
Rosemary
Hi Boann,
It’s a bit complicated as we don’t actually issue tickets for our fundraising events (it’s a long story). Also for tax purposes, I don’t think a ticket (even one that was printed with a donation price) would be considered sufficient documentation by our tax department (in addition, I’m sure most of our attendees would misplace their tickets after the event and would chase us up for tax receipts anyway).

We recently started including fees within the price type by using pricemaps and have discovered that our ticket design was using only the ticket price map to print prices and not the total price map. A little investigation showed us that there are elements that will print the different types of pice maps or the total price depending on what you want. So could you just include on the ticket language about "ticket includes donation of ____"?

You can dictate what the 'ticket' design is, so in theory you could make each ticket look more like a reciept with tax ID and the like, and the 'ticket' could be reprinted at any time to reissue a tax reciept after the fact. Just a thought.....
