I am trying to build a $10 off coupon for a custom subscription.  Can anyone help me with this?  Because it's for a custom subscription each one is going to be a different combination of performances, and as a result a different total each time.  How can I take $10 off without having to build a new price type?

Thank you!

  • The new discounting feature in v9 that Heather references is a good idea (I almost suggested it myself), but it may not be perfect for packages (which Heather inspired me to test and to be sure).  The way it works is that it will discount a set amount from either every sub line item in the package (i.e. each performance seat), essentially multiplying the discount or a only specific sub line item you choose.  So for example, if you set up a $10 off discount, and applied that discount to the package line item, it would deduct $10 from each performance seat.  If you had 5 performances in the package and two seats reserved, that would turn into a discount of $100.  It does not divide the $10 discount evenly between all the performances in the package.  You could choose just a single performance sub line item on the Sub Line Items tab and apply the $10 discount to that sub line item only, giving you the correct total discount, but the discount would not be evenly distributed among your performances.

You could use the editable pricing feature which is already available in v8 to allow your box office staff to change the price on the performance seat sub line items, which would allow them to evenly distribute the discount across all the performances in the package.  They would need to manually calculate the new prices though.

If you want to read up on these newer pricing features see the Ticket Pricing document:  http://www.tessituranetwork.com/~/media/Documentation/Ticketing/Ticket_Pricing.ashx

The doc on the website has been updated for v9, so it includes the new discounting feature.
