I am trying to build a $10 off coupon for a custom subscription.  Can anyone help me with this?  Because it's for a custom subscription each one is going to be a different combination of performances, and as a result a different total each time.  How can I take $10 off without having to build a new price type?

Thank you!

  • Hi Julia,

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but we have a payment method built for marketing that we use for situations like this. So if the package is $200 we would pay $190 off with their credit card etc. and insert a new payment line and pay the leftover $10 with our Marketing Coupon payment method. I believe that our finance department just bills this payment methods GL to marketing.

  • Hi all -

As I was pondering the ways that you might be able to do something like the coupon idea without creating all new price types/maps, I had toyed with the idea of using a separate payment method like Ryan describes and I just want to raise a small flag (maybe pink, not fully red) about doing it that way. If you do indeed "discount" those seats by using a separate payment, keep in mind that you will be paying royalties on the *full* amount of the ticket, not on the discounted price. This may or may not make a difference to your organization, but it could be quite costly in some cases.

The other idea is that in v. 9 of Tessi you have the ability to have flexible prices, so you could have your box office manually adjust the prices on the concerts to make it come out to the correct price.
