GA sections in a reserved facility

Hello all,

I'm having a dilemma with a specific section in our facility.  Events in our hall are generally reserved seating, however there is one section, Grand Tier Boxes, that are general admission by Box.  So Box A has 8 seats, and if you purchase 2 tickets, you get 2 admissions into that box but are not guaranteed any specific seats.

When we built our facility in Tess, (many moons ago), we numbered the seats 1-8 in Box A, but this has always been an issue since people who are unfamiliar with the hall don't realize that even though their tickets say seats 1 and 2, it doesn't really mean that they have seats 1 and 2.

Some of my ideas are to either change the seating numbers in the facility (to, I don't know, letters or something), or maybe try to find a creative ticket design so that seat numbers do not show in that section only.

If you have any great suggestions for me, I'd love to hear them!

Thanks,

Lesley Chaney

  • In my previous life at the NSO we had a similar situation where people would be assigned to a table, i.e. Table A5 but we didn't assign a specific seat at the table.  We got around it like you suggested, in the tickets for that section we had a mask on the value so that if it was in the tabled section we would just not display the seat numbers on the ticket.
