Hi all,
I was recently approached by a staff member who wants to track the steps involved in cultivating a customer with the desired result being the rental of a facility. At first it occurred to me that Contacts - Solicitations might be a good place to deliver what the staff member wants, but obviously Solicitations are geared toward contributions. I would like to know if anybody uses Solicitations to track the cultivation of a rental or any other ticketing purchase, and how it has worked (or not) for you.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi Matt,
Though we have not done this ourselves, I think it is a great idea and can't think of any reason it shouldn't work just fine. I think solicitations are a great tool to be used for anything involving cultivation.I figure you just need (at minimum) to set up a yearly event prospecting campaign to get started.
Thanks for the idea!
Hi Matt -
We've absconded with the solicitations and use it to track subscription leads for our phone room. The one thing I'd suggest is having different types and statuses with some sort of naming convention (i.e. RNT - Blah) That way you can keep those separate from anything development uses.
The one caution I'll throw out there is because you'll have to give more people access to edit/create solicitations this *can* cause a bit of unease in Devo if they get worried that others can muck with their solicitations - I'm not sure how you control group things, but that can ease some of the worry (or you can lock it down with security if you use that functionality).
