Hi there folks,
I'm just wondering how you other subscription based organisations deal with exchanges. We will be using subs packages - they're flexible, so there is no Master or Rollover to worry about.
Do you exchange within the original order or do you do the exchange in a separate order? Would you mind letting me know your logic as to which way you've chosen?
Thanks!
Martin
We do our exchanges in a separate order under MOS Exchange. Mainly for easy tracking and to keep separate from the original subscription.

We complete our exchanges in a separate MOS. It allows us to track exchange orders and it allows us to have an exchange fee automatically apply when a ticket is returned in the order.
We have 2 exchange MOS: Exchanges and Phone Exchanges. For the regular Exchange MOS, there are no additional fees for extra ticket purchase and a convenience charge is applied for Phone Exchanges.

We do exchanges in the original order because we almost always have time-sensitive pricing, and on an exchange we want to honor the subscriber's original price based on their original order date, not the date of the exchange, and backdating a brand new order seemed to us to cancel out a chunk of the usefulness we would have gained by exchanging in a separate order. We also do not charge a fee for our subscribers to exchange, so fees had no effect on the decision in our case.
Our reps also find it's much easier to assist patrons having all their sub tickets in front of them in one place, since patrons often want to make changes to multiple shows from the pkg at the same time. So not having to swap orders to see the other tickets has made things easier in that regard.
