exhanges in origional or new order?

Hi All,

I was wondering if most organizations process exchanges in the original order or in a new order? If you use a new order, do you use an Exchange MOS?

Thanks for your feedback!

  • We have done exchanges in a new order in an Exchange MOS.  However, we are exploring dynamic and variable pricing which is changing the way we do things.

We do Subscriptions in the original order so that our subscribers pay the same rate for the entire year.  The order date will keep the price the same as long as all exchanges are done in that original order.  Keeping the exchange in the same order makes subscribers immune to any price increases or decreases.

We do single ticket exchanges in a new order, making them responsible for any price changes that occured between the time the ordered and the time they exchanged.

Doing exchanges this way allows us to change prices by layering price maps instead of making a million price types.
