Adding a 'comp' ticket to a normal ticket.

Hi all.

We are trying to do a promotion for Mothers day where if you purchase 1 ticket, you can get another one free (for your mother).

I'm not quite sure how we would achieve this.

Has anybody done this before?

We are looking at doing it on the web and through the application.

Thanks.

  • We're trying to do something similar for a promotion here at The Granada Theatre.

Buy a ticket with XXX offer code and receive a free merchandise item.  Unfortunately there seems to be no clear-cut, easy way for Tessitura to automatically add the extra line item so we're going to have to monitor it manually.

Our solution was to create a new MOS for the Web (i.e. Web-Merchandise) and build the offers against that MOS.  We will then be able to monitor all orders received in that MOS and manually add the Merchandise Voucher (which had to be built as it's own performance) to the constituent's order.

This seemed the best way for us to manage this limited time offer.

  • Thanks everyone.

It seems like everyone has a good option for the above.

I like the sound of the web procedure, Ken, but we would never get it done in time for our live website.

I think the package build we have put in place and developed might be able to do this, but wondered if there was an easier, 'out of the box' option.

Also seems like everyone is in the same boat as to Tessitura not being able to do this neatly.

Thanks again everyone.  Great 'teamwork'.    :-)
