It's not a secret out there in our world... from time to time we're told we need to dress the house (or Paper, or give away tickets) for various reasons... We here at Center Theatre Group have been doing it whenver asked from outside producers or even our own in house producers. And of course the no-show rate is usually higher than an actual purchased ticket. I remember at one of the conference someone spoke about charging a service fee on a papering comp ticket.
So my question is this: Are you at an organization that papers and charges a small fee for this? If so, I'd like to hear from you and your experiences. Pros and cons all welcome. We're researching this to see if it will actually be a help or a burden, and if it has strengthen your attendance for those performances that were papered.
