Packages

Hi

We have multiple facilities at our venue and are currently looking at how we can offer a package across multiple facilities with different price zones/maps.  Tessitura only allows you to select a single price map in package set up. The only option I can see is adding the discount as a price type - I wondered how other venues handled this?

Many thanks

  • Hi Mandy

Sorry I think you should be able to do what you like.  The price type is just a label for your price maps, your price maps are actually controlled in the ticketing setup and you link a price map to a price type.  We tend to setup a price type that is used for the package across all performances in a package.  We can then link which ever price map we like to the price type.

So go to Ticketing Setup > Production Elements > Performances  and select the performance you wish to check.  If you look in the pricing tab you can see the price types on the left but the price maps you link that to are actually on the right hand of the screen.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks

    Nick

  • Hi Mandy,

Do you want to set up a fixed seat package or a flex package?  You can do either, the setup is just different.

If you want to set up a fixed seat package you need to use a super package.  To build a super package you create sub packages that only contain performances in the same facility that use the same zone map.  Then you add the sub packages to the super package and the super package does not use the zone field.

If you want to set up a flex package the zone field on the package is mostly irrelevant.  It needs to match the zone map you select for the performance groups, but beyond that it has no meaning.  When you are building the performance groups for the flex package, you can see performances across all your facilities, zone maps, and seasons, by checking the Filter by Business Unit Only box at the bottom of the screen.

For details on both of these see the Package Setup document.

    Hi Kevin

That’s great, I think a super package is the way to go – thanks for that.

    Hi,

Our museum does general admission for three venues with  numerous price types. We use packages because it speeds up the Box Office transaction times a bit.

A colleague and I have been researching packages today. Can anyone tell us what the advantages are of using this facility if you include in the packages  mixed venues, layouts and pricing ?

  • We do the same and it does work well just a little tedious.

We have a package that happens over two facilities. We use the same price types for the whole season. One happens in a G/A facility and one in a reserved seat facility. We build them both as fixed seat sub packages so we can super pack them together.

It works very well for us. No complaints at all!
