Ticket Limit per performance?

Is there a way to restrict the number of tickets purchased for one perofrmance in an order?

We have talked to Commercial Media about handling this issue, but it hasn't gotten past the "specs" stage. There is nothing in Tessitura that would limit them except per order in offers.

Just wondering if anyone may have an answer to this? The reason I ask the question is due to some ticket scalpers, who buy large quantities of tickets even though we have limits, they come back and buy more with multiple orders and different account. Just curious if anyone else out there has encountered this and what they have done to alleviate the issue?

  • Hi Amy,

It is something that is possible with some extra web coding.

When we had our website redesigned we asked for the ability to be able to stop people from buying more than x amount fo tickets per show or per Production Season. This was coded in our website and all the Box Office do now is at either level use a Content type with the maximum value of tickets allowed. The website then checks the account of the customer to see how many tickets they have booked before allowing them to purchase tickets and will stop them if they already have the max number of tickets in their account.
