We would like to start attaching source codes to promotional codes so we can track our web sales. I understand from the documentation that I do this in TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO, and I only populate the source number and promo code. I tried it with a current offer we have available, but it's only working for some of the orders coming through. I checked the web sales, and while some have the correct source code, others have our generic web source code even though it has the correct price type. Any suggestions? Thank you!
From my understanding of your question - it looks like some people are entering the promo code on the web to purchase tickets and others are not. Attaching a promo and source to an offer doesn't force the change on all sales - customers have to enter the promo code online to get those change to apply.
Hi Julia
I agree with you....I've also been trying to get source codes to pull through from promotional codes on the web. I thought I had set up the TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO correctly, following the documentation, but all the orders using the offer price on the web came through with the generic web source codes. There must be something else? Does the source name name to be entered in the Text column?
Is the promotion in question triggering a mode of sale shift? Or is it for the default MOS? My guess would be that the pricetype in question is available without entering a promocode, hence the orders with the default web source. If the promocode is supposed to trigger a mode of sale shift, make sure the promotional pricetype is not available in the default web MOS. If it is supposed to be in the default MOS, make sure you have an offer set up in Tessitura for that source and pricetype so the promotional pricetype will only show if the promocode was entered. You'd also need to make sure your website is set up for offers, not just promotions.
