Combo Maps - General Admission and Reserved Seating

Hello!

We have been asked to set up a VIP reserved seating zone (they pick their seats) in our facility map with all other seats being general admission (they don't select their seats). Is this possible in Tessitura?

  • Hi Eric,

Kind of! The patron in the GA section will still "select a seat" in the map. It'll be important to communicate via the purchase path that although they are picking a seat, it's general admission in that section. Depending on if your facility map is built or not already, you can also get creative with the section labels and seat labels to make it clear it's GA for that part of the house.

    Best,

  • We do have a combo map we are still using; the map itself is actually a reserved map as far as facility setup goes, but as Katina suggested, we had to be creative the row/seat/section descriptions for the GA section, as well as the ticket design in order to sell them a GA seat that is part of a reserve map. I think we called the section General Admission and every row on the seating grid was labeled GA.

If you are doing a SYOS map on TNEW, then so long as the GA and reserved sections are built on different screens, Tessitura can set it up so that when they interact with the reserve sections screen they are taken to the SYOS but if they interact with the GA screen then they are taken to the best seating screen.
