Hello everyone,
Does anyone know how to make zip codes a required field in the online purchase path when entering a card? We are running Tessitura & TNEW v15 and use WorldPay as our online portal.
We have recently had a wave of chargebacks filed as fraudulent. I spoke with our credit card provider and they suggested adding a required zip code field to cut back on the fraudulent chargebacks and make fighting them easier. According to them, banks consider the billing zip code to be another form of authorization that cannot be found on the card, which combats stolen cards. We currently have the CVV as a required field. It is clear the information used to create an account in TNEW is not imported into WorldPay, so patrons would have to re-enter it when entering the card.
Any thoughts about adding this field or fighting these chargebacks is greatly appreciated.

Hello Luke! This is Amelia with Tessitura Network Support. We’re happy to assist you with this. I’ve created a Support ticket where we’ll work with you to find a resolution. We’ll also relay our findings from that ticket in this forum post, but if you have any other questions or concerns in the meanwhile please let us know.
Have there been any updates to this post? We are also experiencing a wave of fraudulent transactions through our TNEW site and are trying to find a way of preventing them.
Us too, and all within the last week or two. I have a ticket in to Tessitura to see what we can do, but I'm open to ideas from everyone
Hi Luke!Did you get zip code verification up and running on your website? If you did, would you be willing to walk me through how that project went? We are looking to implement this on our site and it would be great to hear about all the required steps.ThanksJess LevySan Francisco Operajlevy@sfopera.com
Hi Jess,
As Amelia mentioned below, we opened a ticket about this with Support. I do not think I spoke directly with Amelia, but it looks like the option has to be enabled through your credit card processor (at least as far as I can tell). Our credit card processor has not been forthcoming about how to enable zipcodes and asked we contact our web developers. The web developers then directed me back to our credit card processor.
With that being said, Tessitura Support suggested Merchant Services as a possible solution, so I have spent most of my time researching Tessitura integration via Merchant Services. I am open to suggestions in the meantime, but I have not made much progress unfortunately.
I will be sure to update this thread as soon as we have a working solution, but we do not have anything quite yet.
Thanks, Luke. I also have a ticket open with Tessitura. I will let you know if I learn anything new or if we get this implemented.
