Add WEB Promo Code for Walk-Up Discount

We have a Half-Off Member Swap coming up with another institution. I already built the discount for in person walk-up sales (tested it and it works great). What we now need is to have that same discount available for online purchases.

Is there a promo code set up or something I can do to match the two together so that when we are reporting on it we get all ticket sales in one report (whether it's in person or online).

Any and all suggestions would be great! Thanks!

  • You would need to add the source code to TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO system table (reference table in v16) with the Parent Key column set to Tessitura Web. You'll also need to assign a Promo Code (word). See below for an example.

I usually also add an additional row with the same information but with the Parent Key setting of Impresario. This will then make the promo code searchable on an order within the application.

  • We are still running v15 (15.2.33 to be exact). I created a new source and added it with the promo phrase to the System Table mentioned, but when I tested it in TNEW TEST, it didn't work. I thought I followed the help system instructions to a T, so I am not sure what happened.

  • Hi Chelsea,

Would you be able to share how you set up the in-person promo code? We are going to have our Thanksgiving membership sale and we would like to set up a source code for onsite walk-up. Thank you!

  • In-person we typically do as Discounts instead (because Sources are sticky which kept confusing our VS Associates), but TNEW Sources and In-Person Sources work the same way.

I'm attaching the word doc of instructions. Replace any of our examples with your info. You can also skip anything related to putting it in TNEW because it's for walk-ups. So for example instead of placing the source in "Web Pricing Rules" under Pricing Rule Sets, you would put it under regular "Pricing Rules"

  • FYI, the Source number does not have to be sticky. You can change the setting based upon the mode of sale. Ticketing Setup - Modes of Sale.

Otherwise, you can have the Promo Code (TNEW) as a searchable item within the Source search.
     or

You set this in TR_WEB_SOURCE and set the Parent Key to Impresario. With 2 rows set to two different parent keys, the promo code will work on TNEW and is searchable within the order.

  • Wow, this is so old, so I'm sure it's a moot point now. But I'm pretty sure TNEW TEST draws information from Tessitura TEST, it's not a TNEW of Prod, so you would have needed to make sure you did a Live to Test copy of Tessitura.
