I'm setting up 8 ticket scanners that we want to work exclusively on mobile data. As you require a Static External IP address, I'm coming against issues working out how to make this happen.
Our IT VPN is not an option.
O2 is unable to provide a SIM with a Static IP
Does anybody have any experiences or alternative suggestions that they can share?
Cheers,
Ben.

Hi Ben,
SNAP! We have just posted a forum question on a similar line - here https://community.tessituranetwork.com/tessitura_software_forums/f/tessitura_technical-9/30570/what-processes-or-apps-are-people-using-for-vpn-connections-for-zebra-scanners
I played around with the idea of a remote 4G hotspot that acted as a wifi modem for the scanners, but I was not able to set the VPN on the modem itself, so I still had to connect the individual devices to a VPN in order to get inside of NSCAN.
We have Zebra scanners with an Android OS, which does allow VPN, which when it works, it works OK. I'm looking for a more reliable static IP on the devices, either via VPN or other so I'll let you know what I find out. Feel free to reach out direct (bastianst@aso.com.au) if you like. I will investigate a static IP with our telco (Telstra) but I'm not confident.
