Multiple Receipts???

Does anyone know of a way to have one order print 2 different receipts? This is to be used when a gift certificate is redeemed, we have one receipt that goes back to the customer as a "gift certificate balance slip" and then we want one to print that has slightly different information on it that is for our internal record keeping and reconciliation.

Thanks,

Amy

  • Amy, by default, one receipt prints out per payment made on the order (in most cases, two receipts, the original payment and the gift certificate payment).  You could create an alternate receipt format for your records, but it would require the user to make a second printing step, opening the print window and selecting an alternate receipt format.  This, of course, assumes that you want to give the patron buying a gift certificate two receipts, the gift certificate itself and the payment receipt.

The system cannot print more than one receipt ticket per payment automatically.

    Hi Amy
If it's just for your internal reconciliation purposes, you'd be better off doing a (daily?) GC redemption report, I think.
Tess already keeps a record of all those things electronically, so it's just a matter of pulling them out with whatever details you need when you need to do your checking. If your finance / audit people aren't initially happy without scraps of cardboard to play with, you might need to do some formal testing to prove the accuracy of your report, but that would be the way to go. Most people probably have some similar report that they would be happy to share.
