Allocations

We are about to do one of our first Allocations which will be available on our website, over the phone and at the Box Office.  We have an "Allocation" Mode of Sale ready to use but is it possible to have the Allocation available on the Internet, Phone and Window Modes of Sale without losing the capability to have these Modes of Sale available for other performances?

Thank you very much!

  • You’ll know the MOS is changing because the only available seats will be the allocated ones.  And if there is a discount involved, then you should also be seeing the discount price type.

Some questions for investigating why the MOS isn’t changing:

Do you have an entry for the promo code with the discount MOS selected in TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO?  Are you using the same promo code (i.e. the word) for any other sources (doing so would cause a conflict)?  Have you ever used an MOS shift on your website before (if not it’s possible your site isn’t coded to handle an MOS shift, though that’s probably unlikely).  If everything with the setup checks out, I suggest opening a help ticket at this point.

    Good luck!

It looks like I've done everything right, but before I contact our web company or open up a help ticket I have one more question.  Does it matter that I have an offer set up for this price type in our default web mode of sale?  I'm thinking this might be the problem, but if I delete this offer then the pricetype will show up without the patron having to enter a code.  And if I create the offer in the discount MOS then the pricetype isn't available if I try to buy a ticket in this MOS in Tessitura.
