Hi all,
We are upgrading our scanners and have purchased a Zebra TC21 device to test. Does anyone have experience installing NSCAN on these devices? We're having a little trouble and would love to speak with someone who has done it.
Many thanks!
Charlotte
Hi, Charlotte -- we have 4 x Zebra TC72 scanners we put into service last summer. Had a few small hurdles to get over but we are really happy with the way they perform. Happy to help, if you'd like. Shoot me an email if you'd like to connect, etc.
Hi, Tim. This is Perry; I'm actually working for Charlotte on this issue. I'm stuck at the point of trying to import the data wedge profile for the TC21. I can't seem to navigate to the Tessitura provided profile from that Data Wedge app. If you have any time to help with this, that would be great. My phone number is 415-806-1844. Thanks!
Hello, this is Perry. I am working with Charlotte on the TC21's, and I think I figured it out. Thanks anyway. If further testing reveals that I have in truth figured it out, I'll post what I did here.
HI, We are also in the process of installing the tc21 devices and are having problems installing. Did you manage to fix this and if so would you be happy to share what you did?
Hi, Kerry - The McCarter folks (above) have a TC21 so they may have specific solutions to match your issue. I have TC72 devices, and am happy to help if I can. If you are stuck trying to import the NSCAN Data Wedge configuration, there's a "settings" menu in the DataWedge app that offers the option to Import a DataWedge configuration. Happy to help via the phone, etc, too.
Hi Kerry, Perry Jones worked on this for us and created a cheat sheet document for himself. He is only working part-time so may not be able to reply. Immediately - but if I can get your e-address I can email you the document.
I ran into problems at a few spots. What spot are you having problems at?
For the data wedge step these were my steps:
Install N-Scan Datawedge profile:
Run DataWedge. (in zConfigure window on home screen of TC21.)
Settings, Import Profile.
Looks like in order to see a profile to import into Data Wedge, you have to drop the data wedge profile file in this location (in File Explorer on an attached Windows 10 machine) :
TC21/Internal shared storage/Android/data/com.symbol.datawedge.
This is the folder that Data Wedge can see, and it's a folder that you can see in File Explorer on Windows 10. If you try to navigate to other folders from the Data Wedge app, you can't get very far; where you are navigating to doesn't really match the folder structure that you see on other File Explorer from an attached Windows 10 machine.
Does that make sense? Hopefully not too cryptic, and it will make sense as you're doing it.
Thanks all. Peregrin we did exactly as you worked out by trial and error that we needed to move the dwprofile file. We've now rewritten the documentation to make it a bit clearer for our teams.
