Good morning,
We are looking at the possibility of using 'Offers' for our online ticketing promotion needs. I was told that they can be triggered with a source code, and would unlock certain price types. Currently we use Modes of Sale in conjunction with pricing rules to accomplish our needs. However, one of the issues that keeps coming up for guests is when guests input the source/promo code after selecting their tickets. Naturally, this won't affect what's already carted. Will offers help with that?
Is there a mechanism in Tessitura to change/discount already carted tickets? We have adjusted our performance pages in TNEW to reference the promo code procedure in a few spots, but the issue keeps recurring.
I've been through the documentation a few times, but I wasn't able to find answers to these questions. In TEST, I wasn't able to make things work either, so I'm turning to the forums!
Offers are tied to Mode of Sale as well so I'm not sure that would address your issue, although you could probably have the same offer on all Modes. Is there a way for your pricing rules to not be tied to the Mode of Sale? Pricing rules do seem to be more flexible than offers in my experience.
Some of our pricing is through mode-of-sale switches, and some is through generic Pricing Rules. We're fine with Modes of Sale, but we're looking for a way to avoid the problem of guests not putting the code in before selecting tickets.Do offers work before and after price type selection? Or would the code still need to be put in before carting the tickets?
Hi Nate,
Pricing in TNEW managed through Offers should update when a promo code is entered after something has already been added to the cart:

If that's not the behavior you are seeing, I suggest opening a help ticket so support can look at the issue with you.

Great, thank you! I'm giving this another run in TEST, standby.
We use a mix of offers and pricing rules based on the scenario, and have a pretty handy cheat-sheet to help figure out which one to use when. If you'd like I'd be happy to share it with you.
That would be great- thank you!

Hi Anna
I have been reading this conversation with interest from Perth, Western Australia. I often have trouble getting the results I am looking for when using offers, pricing rules etc so would be grateful if you could share your cheat sheet with me?

Many thanks
Josie
This sounds intriguing - would love to see what you have set up!

Sure thing, just sent!
I would love to see it as well. If possible: maureen@artsphilly.org
Hi Anna, I'd love to see that too if you're willing to share.
wes.doerksen@mh-rth.com
thanks!
The word from TASK support is that offers will not update any carted items. We'd been looking for a way to allow guests to access discounts even when putting in a promo code after making their ticket selections. It looks like this is not an option, unfortunately.
If you are still sending it out, I'd love a copy of your cheat-sheet. ecarlock@lamiradatheatre.com
And thank you.
Totally, just sent :)
Mind if I get a copy of those as well? pfitz@cnu.edu
