Hi All - We are investigating a new product - a Dance Party in our concert hall, where we would have the Orchestra level for standing and dancing, sold general admission, and then sell the upper three levels seated. Is this even possible to set up in Tessy to sell from the ticket office and online? If so, how do you do it?
Thanks!
Jen
Hi Jen,
We investigated this ourselves about a year ago. Basically, we created a new venue that had a block of seats in one screen for GA, then the reserved seating in a second screen, to visually break it out. We assigned one zone and generic contiguity to the GA section, and specific zones and contiguity to the reserved sections.
We made sure the section names were specific, so patrons would understand online. You could do "General Admission Dance Level", then "Tier 1 Reserved", "Tier 2 Reserved", etc.
Your best set map would need to be considered. If you wanted to focus on Orchestra sales, you could assign your best seat map to sell there first if "Best Available" is selected on your site.
I have to add a slight disclaimer here in that we never put this facility into production, so I'm not sure how well it works beyond the drawing board. But I hope the time I spent on it helps you!
