Hi, We need to create a 'test' order in LIVE for scanning a ticket with NSCANNER. OUr NSCANNER's are scanning against our LIVE database so we need to create a "test" order in LIVE. Our Finance doesn't want this "test" order to show up in any financial closing statements or reports. So, is there any way I can delete or void that order after scanning?
Please advise
Sharon,You can point your NSCAN scanner to the TEST database, which might be easier. If you go into the Admin settings on the scanner, there's a field called "NScan Service URL" on the System page. For us, all I have to do is change the word "Live" in that url to "Test" to change where it's pointing - and then maybe reload the profile? It's been a couple months since I've had my hands on one of our devices.-Maery
Hi Sharon! An order cannot be deleted or voided once it is saved. To avoid financial reporting issues, your best option is to use a $0 ticket, and leave a note in the order about why the transaction was created.
Maery this is an excellent point! Your test N-Scan service should definitely be used as a first option if possible.
Thank you so much Maery, that's a good idea. You are a lifesaver. We will try that when someone goes to onsite next time. I don't have a scanner with me right now.
Thank you Michael. We will try Maety's idea when we go to on-site next time.
