Our Air Zoo has all of its daily admissions for the rest of the calendar year built out already but we need to rezone them to split the day into two different sessions (morning and afternoon admissions). Does anyone have any helpful hints for this? We do not use N-Scan, nor have we ever had timed admissions of any kind, so we naively thought this to be much simpler than it turns out to be... All help (and gentle mockery) gratefully accepted. Thanks!
Hi Mindee! Here are the general steps to editing a zone map that is already applied to performances in use.
The first step is to add a new zone to the zone map assigned to these performances in Facility Manager (i.e. add an "Afternoon" zone to your existing map). This page explains that function, and shows at the bottom a message that is presented when you save the changes. The new zone will become available on all of the performances. You can also rename the existing zone Morning at this point. (Alternatively, you could leave the existing zone as it as an add to new zones, and adapt these instructions.)
The next step is to follow these instructions for using Season Maintenance to reassign some of the seats to the new zone across some or all of the performances. I suggest doing these in smaller batches to start, like one month of performances at a time. As noted on that page, "The price zone can be changed on available seats only. Reserved and sold seats cannot be rezoned."
And finally, you would use the Pricing tab of Season Maintenance to assign pricing to the new zone (it can be the same pricing as your existing zone). Make sure you also mark the pricing grid cells as "Enabled" in this process as well.
Hope that helps!
