Hi all
Is there a way to stop tickets from being printed if they are not required?
As an example we sell dinners in our restaurant through Tess as an event. We have 3 price types in the event; "2 courses" & "3 courses" which we use for online sales - the customer pays for dinner at that point. We have another price type that is available to BO staff to reserve a space(s) in the restaurant for customers. Ideally we do not want to print the reservation tickets i.e when we batch print tickets for a performance and a group of 20 have booked a show and reserved dinner we want to print the show tickets but not the dinner reservation tickets.
I've tried in price type set up, ticketing set up and season manager but you have to allocate a ticket design before you can save.
Is there a solution to my dilemma?!
Hi Alec,
If I'm understanding the situation correctly there may be a couple solutions.
Hope this helps.
We created a dummy ticket design titled "No Print" and did not add any text or data elements - if no data or text elements are attached to the ticket it will not print. We then assigned that ticket design to the price types that we do not want to be printed.
Lauren Grim what version(s) have you used this trick to get "No Print" tickets?
14.0 - our current version which is 15.0.6.
Hi Alec - I work with a much simpler ticketing setup, and others have said similar things here I think, but not quite this. There is a checkbox within each performance, under Mode of sale, called "Printing." If you un-check the box, it will turn off ticket printing for that performance.
I'd scratch the first option I listed. Option 2 is the better choice here.
Thanks for all the tips/advice. The option I went with is Lauren's "dummy ticket" suits our needs perfectly, :) thanks again
