Is anybody using, or looking into, self service kiosks for selling tickets? We're starting to test this and have some ideas around how we'll make it work. However I wondered if anybody has had any experience in implementing/installing and using self service ticket sales in any form?
Cheers!
Hey Jack,
Here at the Science Museum Group we're in a similar position and are just about to start exploring self service ticketing and kiosks. Will you be at the conference in Chicago as maybe we can compare notes while we're there?
Thanks
Grae
Hi Grae,
Unfortunately I won't be in Chicago. Perhaps we could have a chat when you're back? I've got your email so can get in touch directly in august.
Jack
Georgia Aquarium does currently have self service Kiosks. Each machine has access to two performances with multiple price zones. I would be happy to answer any questions that I can but we are going through a third party vendor as far as install and maintenance.
We want to do this at MASS MoCA also. Has anyone tried it yet?
I'd be interested if anyone has successful self serve kiosks as well. This is something we are considering.
What devices are you using for your self-service Kiosks? I know this is an old discussion, but it seems quite relevant right now! thanks!
I've written one - using C# and the Vantiv TriPOS API for EMV payments. Been running for over a year in our lobby. I'll be adding contactless payments when we re-open.
Be warned - it took me about 7 months.

Hello! We're exploring this option for our museum. Did you have much progress on this one since your original post? Any learning to share?
Thanks much
In The Villages Florida, we have implemented/launched 2 Kis Kiosks. There are some limits and points of advancement we are working with their support team on, however, they are always available and very business-friendly. Good luck!! :) https://www.kisticket.com/kis_kiosk
