We are looking into possibly adding seats to our venue, though nothing is confirmed yet. If this happens, we will more than likely add some seats to the ends of some of our rows and add at least one new row completely.
If I end up having to relabel rows or add seats to our pre-existing seat map, am I still able to rollover our subscribers? I am just hoping we do not have to manually reseat everyone.
Thanks!
Brian
Hi Brian,
Most ticketing rollovers need to have it happen from same venue to same venue. And I'm about 99% sure Tessi is the same way. So I think for the first year you're using your new venue you will have to manually set up sub orders.
Sorry to not have better news.
Thanks Maureen. I am wondering though, if I take our current seating map and make alterations to it, (so add seats onto pre-existing rows) would I still be able to rollover? Since in the system, the seat map is still the same file, just with some alterations.
That's a great point! I'm trying to remember from when we made changes how that played out but it was year's ago...I'll be interested in what others have to say on this.
When you look in the database at seats, both in T_SEAT (which holds the seats as you see them in Facility Manager) and TX_PERF_SEAT (which holds the seats for individual performances, copied from T_SEAT when the performance is created) there are the Seat Rows and Numbers that you see on the map and that print on tickets and the like, and there is a database seat_no that the system uses to know that this seat is in this exact location on the map.
If you relabel the Seat Rows and Numbers the underlying database seat_no does not change. If a Patron has seats A 1&2 and you add two seats on the row and relabel the patrons seats to A 3&4, when you rollover the patron's package the new seats will be A 3&4, which will have the same database seat_no as their previous package. In this example, if you wanted to add the two seats to the row AND make sure the patron remains in A 1&2, you would need to move their seats manually.
A couple of years ago we created a series training videos on Facility Management that includes a section on adding or removing seats from a Facility in use that may be helpful:
