Hello!
Our development department has recently started using Tessitura after the box office being the main keeper of data for the prior five years. We are trying to work on having an integrated understanding of what each department wants / needs.
So much of what the box office does relates to the BIO data of a patron, we've had a several hiccups already with development making changes that became a challenge later.
Does anyone have any spectacular words of wisdom to share or perhaps a data standards sheet you've found helpful?
As the DB / Tessitura Admin and the Box Office Manger I want to make everyone happy but also find getting everyone on the same page to be a challenge!
Thank you!!
It seems basic, but I would recommend a weekly or bi-weekly meeting with your Devo department to discuss Tessitura needs, data integrity, etc. No changes should be made, added or edited without bringing it up at that meeting and have consensual agreement. Come up with a standard for the customer data input (address standards, email standards, phone, etc.) and everyone follows that format.

Hi Michelle,
As the Data Services Manager I have weekly meetings with the Dev Team to discuss functionality. I'd like to have monthly meetings with our Patron Services Team as well, but scheduling has been an issue since most are part-time. I also create documentation and have quarterly lunch and learn sessions where we cover things like Data Entry Standards and cross-departmental issues/concerns.
I attached our Data Entry Standards documentation if it's of any help.
