Masterpass

This is just an informative inquiry, but does anybody use Masterpass for their business/is it something that is able to be integrated with Tess?

  • Hi Brian,

I don’t think it would necessarily need to be integrated with Tessitura but instead is code you add to the check-out page on your website.  We added Masterpass to the check-out page when I was working at the Sydney Opera House.  It makes the transaction process much quicker (and more secure) for the customer since they don’t need to enter their card details every time they shop but simply their Masterpass login and on the Tessitura side it’s still a Mastercard payment method.

    It looks like this:

    Hope that helps.

    Chuck

  • Thanks Charles.  This is very helpful!

were you able to used this with face-to-face sales or strictly online?

So if a patron logs on to the site to buy tickets, the Masterpass will remember their payment info and they can just click the payment method and skip all the typical adding of info?

  • Yes I believe Masterpass is only an online option.

Instead of entering the full card details the customer clicks the masterpass button and a pop up opens where they enter their masterpass login.  So you'd essentially have one field to fill out instead of three: number, expiration date and security code.  And if they login on the same computer they wouldn't even need to enter the masterpass login the next time. It's more secure because no card details are every displayed on the screen.
