Hopefully, someone here will either be able to help me with this or tell me this concept is no longer necessary with NScan/Tessitura.
Our venue has used scanners before with our old Ticketmaster system. Sometimes when we needed to perform customer service for someone which involved reprinting the ticket, we had the ability to "unblock" their ticket/seat location from the software so they would be able to enter the theater without any problem. We used thsi rarely, but odten enough to be a helpful feature.
I have not seen anything to this effect in the NScan documentation, but maybe I've missed it. Do you have the ability to allow entry on a ticket that has been re-issued (by no fault of the patron)? Or am I thinking too much about this? What do other venues do to solve problems like this in a creative way?

Our “gatekeepers” have the option of just admitting the patron, as we are all general admission seating in our theater; this precludes having them show up as “attended”. Alternatively, for a sold out performance, the patron is sent to the Box Office for re-ticketing. It is very rare for the patron to bring the original ticket, when they have reprinted, but it does sometimes happen.
