I'm trying to gain some insight into how people schedule their volunteer ushers. Do you use Tessitura for this? We are trying to create a more efficent way to do this. Right now we use Excel to maintain the usher database and schedule. My idea was to first put all of our volunteers into Tessitura as Volunteers, then build our shows to schedule them into. Does that make sense?

Hi James,
When I worked at the Arsht Center in Miami, we used a custom screen and several custom reports for volunteer and paid usher scheduling and attendance tracking. We were still refining the system when I left (about 8-9 months ago), but I'd be happy to put you in touch with some of my colleagues there if you're interested in seeing what they're doing.
It was a lot of work on the data input side, but we were able to get some great reporting/data out of it.
