Data Extract

Good Morning,

We're trying to find a way to pull the following information:

In a specific season, we want to know the number of orders which had ticket(s) reserved for a performance in Venue A (may consist of 1-3 different zone maps) and a ticket to a performance in any other venues not Venue A. I'm unable to come up with a report that gives me the specific information. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Maurice

  • Maurice,

Do you have T-Stats?  You could use the Seat cube to get this information.

  • Terry, I do have T-Stats and have tried a number of times to get this information with no luck. Unfortunately I'm not necessarily that experienced with T-Stats so I'm sure there are recipes and such I'm unfamiliar with.

  •

    Maurice,

You may need to create one scenario and save that to list and then bring that list back into T-Stats and use that with your second scenario.  For Orders I would use the Tickets Cube.  The different Measure and Dimensions you may want to use are:

    1.     Ticketing Season/Season (Most likely in Filter Slicer)

    2.     Ticketing Seating/Facility (To select your Venue - Most likely in Filter Slicer)

    3.     Ticketing Performance Details/Performance Name, or Production Season, or Perf Code Date (Most likely under Categories)

    4.     Ticket Zone/Zone, Zone Map or Zone Hierarchy (I would pull this first Categories to see what Zones I had in the venue, then move it to Filter/Slicer and select the specific Zone(s) I want)

    5.     Measures/Ticket Counts and Amounts/Num Tickets pull to Series and select Num Orders

This will get you the number of orders for a specific performance in a specific zone.  Then you can save these constituents to a list in List Manager.  Mark the list in List Manager to be used in T-Stats.  Then in TStats pull your other performances/zones like above but use the new list as a List-Based Filter.

Give me a call if you want to talk this through more. My number is in my profile.

  • Terry,

Your breakdown was super helpful! I was able to get the information I was looking for!

    Thanks,

I would do the following in T-Stats:

Go to the “Tickets Cube” and select “New Report”.

Find the Dimension “Ticket Season” and select “Season” drag it up to your “Filter/Slicer”. Once it is there choose only the season you want to analyze.

                   Now you have a choice:

    Either

find the Dimension “Ticket Seating” and select “Seating Hierarchy” drag that to the bottom under “Categories”. If you want only one “Facility” select that facility.

    Or

find the Dimension “Ticket Zone” and select “Zone Hierarchy” drag that to the bottom under “Categories”. If you want only one “Zone Map” select that zone map.

    Or

find the Dimension “Ticket Seating” and select “Facility” drag that to the bottom under “Categories”. If you want only one “Facility” select that facility and then find the Dimension “Ticket Zone” and select “Zone Hierarchy” drag that to the bottom to the right of “Facility”. If you want only one “Zone Map” select that zone map.

Then find the Measure “Order Counts” and select “Num Orders” and drag that to the right under “Series”.

That should get you the info you are looking for.

Feel free to reach out to me directly if you want my help.

  • Hey Nicole,

All I'm looking for is a way to get a the total number of orders in any given season which have performances in 2 or more different venues.

The issue I'm running into is finding a total number of orders that have a ticket to a performance in Venue A and a ticket for a performance in Venue B. I may not be doing it correctly, but what you're suggesting only seems to show a number of orders for each Facility specifically. I've tried playing around with a number of combinations for Facility as a filter, Facility Hierarchy as a filter, and neither of them seem to work.

What I seem to need is the ability to use the Facility option twice. In theory, this would allow me to put my Venue A option as the Filter, and then the Venue B as the Categories or Series.

    Thanks,

    Maurice

    Bummer!

Even if you could use the Facility twice (which you can with both Facility and Facility Hierarchy) it still wouldn’t narrow it down to two venues being sold in the same order.

Both T-Stats and List Manager look at overall constituent data not really Order data. So, you could easily do a crossover to see which constituents have both Venue A and Venue B, but it wouldn’t necessarily be in the same Order.

You could potentially run an “Order Confirmation” report and make the Venue a custom element and then pivot the data in Excel, but that would be several additional steps.

If it is something you would like to run often you might want to have a custom report created.

If anybody else thinks of a better answer feel free to throw it in the mix.

Sorry I couldn’t be more help!

    Nicole
