Pricing Rules Category

Hi,

We've just upgraded out Test system to V.12.5 and i am getting into the Pricing Rules set up.  Does anyone have any advice regarding strategies for setting up the Pricing Rules Category System Table?  documentation is a little vague on the purpose of segmenting into different categories.

    Bringing this topic to the top. Pricing Rules Category. If you're not a consortium, what are your practices? Do you have multiple categories? You can't save a Pricing Rule without a category, and documentation on these pre-steps for pricing rules set up seems lacking.............

    What I wound up doing was very sparse; four categories for some general needs:


    1.  Bundles  (Bundling up several shows for a discount; almost a CYO subscription.)

    2.  Buy More/Save More (Very similar to Bundles, but included more shows; our Marketing Department calls the 2 programs different things, so I followed their lead)

    3.  Message  (I build message-only rules with this.)

    4.  Education (Basically just separating education promotions and messaging out from our "Main Stage" activities.)

    Currently, the categories don't really have much functional use for our organization, but we will probably be looking to employ Control Groups more strategically in the future and as mentioned above, we'll have to get a lot much thoughtful about our approach.
