Sales - Merchandise

Does anyone sell merchandise through Tessitura? Is this even possible? If so, how do I set it up? Thanks.

  • Currently we only sell a little bit of merchandise through Tess (4 different CDs). But I have a vision of converting our Front Of House team from their POS service to Tessitura for all of our bar and dessert sales. That's still a bit of a dream though. :)

But for the CDs, we have them built as dummy performances. I have one performance for each CD type and I restrict inventory using holds. We have a CD price type for this purpose and a Merchandise MOS. So buying a CD is the equivalent of purchasing a ticket to a show. We also have a custom website and our developer was able to create a custom purchase path for these so it doesn't look like a ticket sale.

I know there are a number of orgs out there that sell merchandise one way or another. Some use performances and others use fees. I'm sure some others would be happy to chime in on their methods!
