Composite ticketing problems

Hello-Is there anyone out there that can help with composite ticketing?  We offer three venues (usually) and want to get all of them on one ticket via quicksale.  We use two venues as general seating with only one zone, but we have a venue with multiple zones (and times) that we are unable to get onto the composite ticket.

I can offer more information if needed, just ask!  Thanks all

  • Hi Jon,

Is the problem that you're having trouble showing the time on the composite ticket for a performance where the time is stored at the zone level rather than on the performance level?

If so, the Seat level element of Price Zone Time should be what you need (make sure all your zones in this facility have the time filled in in Facility Manager). If I'm not answering what you're asking let me know and I'll take another shot at it. :)

  • Hi Kjersten,

Thanks for the reply.  Ray and I solved the time issue, but the underlying issue is that we want to be able to pick a SPEX time in Combos from Quick Sale and the software does not allow it, or we cannot figure out how to make that happen.  When you select SPEX from QS, it just defaults to 9am.

In order to get the right SPEX time, we have to go from QS into the line item screen to pick the correct time and that kind of kills the point of QS, right?  If that can be solved, we will be golden.

  • Hi Jon,

In Ticketing Setup > Perf Groups, for the Perf Group that contains the SPEX performance, there is a checkbox at the top right called "Display By Time." Is that checked? If not, try checking that and seeing if the SPEX display correctly.

  • Yes!  Woo hoo!  Thanks so much!  That worked perfectly.  Thanks to both of you.

  • I have another issue with the composite ticket.  Not sure if anyone can help with this, but here is the issue:

We have General exhibits, OMNI theater and SPEX set up in the ticket design.  They work great if we sell the OMNI and the SPEX in order.  That is, if you select a 2pm OMNI and a 3pm SPEX (along with GENX), the composite ticket is exactly on with the correct times.

However, if you sell an OMNI time that is later than the SPEX time, none of the correct times print on the ticket.  Ray and I figure it has something to do with the ordinal number but cannot figure out how that should look.  Right now the ordinals are 1 for GenX, 2 for OMNI, and 3 for SPEX.

  • AMNH has a similar issues since the flex packages can be composed of up to 7 or 8 items and some of those have zone times and other use the performance time. The way the tickets are designed to make this work is by using 2 ticket design elements layered directly on top of each other (credit Alex Harris for the idea).

So the place on the ticket where you want to display the time has the Zone Time element which will only populate with data if the zone has a time in Facility Manager. Then a second element is placed directly over it. This element references one of the ticket text fields on the performance. In that ticket text field, for all performances where the time is at the performance level, the performance time is filled in. So this element will only have data in that scenario.

So the final set up is as follows:

-Imax performances have the time in the performance ticket text field and that will always print on the ticket if present.
-SPEX performances don't have anything in the performance ticket text field, but have a time on the zone that prints if it is present.

If you do this for the time on both the 2nd and 3rd ordinal one or the other always prints depending on which type of performance it is. Hopefully that makes sense - feel free to shoot me an email directly if not and we can talk it through further. :)

  • Thanks Kjersten,

Ray and I will give this a shot.  Send me an email at my smm account so I know where to get you.  Or leave your office number and we can call perhaps if we cannot figure it out.

    Thanks!
