How do I split a facility between seated and standing tickets? They can both be GA but how would the tickets indicate seated or standing unless I used two seperate facilities?
Hi Ian,
We have just gone on sale with a similar set up where one of our levels is standing and the other two are seated. We had to build a new facility anyway - is that what you are trying to avoid?
Also, where do you need it to show up? We set ours up to make it clear to both box office over the phone and online (but it's best available - not SYOS).
We use zones to indicate whether a seat is standing or seated but you could also use seat type, depending on whether you use it for anything else. We use seat type to indicate entry points so we can't use that one. You could also use section but again we use that to indicate which level and whether the seats are accessible or not.
You could also use the name of the price type to really highlight it - we don't do that either but we have done in certain performances in the past.
We also use screen text to remind box office staff selling it.
Hope that's helpful.

We have our seating and standing on the same facility the Gallery is always Standing at the Hall and we have a specific facility for when the Arena is a standing area.
When the arena is standing, it is built as just a GA block of seats, with the price zone labelled as Arena (Standing). The labeling on the seat map also says Standing, but as it is very different to the arena seating map, it is easy to distinguish. Our seat type on the map is also labelled as Standing.
We make sure that the ticket for the area is clearly labelled by using masking to make sure that the ticket does not refer to "seat" on the ticket.
I'd be happy to send some screen shots across if you wanted to take a look.Caryl
HI Brooke,
I think I've nailed it. I've used a combination of Sections, Zones, Screen Text and as much as possible to differentiate between the two areas on a new facility. Online is Best Available as you have mentioned. I've done some tinkering with the ticket design and it all looks good. I think it's all clear to Box Office and FoH staff.
Thanks for your help.
Ian
Hi Caryl,
All done. And working too!
