Online Group Sales Ticketing

Hello,

Our Company is trying to implement online sales of tickets for groups. Currently, sales are only done by phone. One is able to reserve tickets with a deposit up until a month before their performance date. The balance and total seats are due a month before the performance. Does anybody have this kind of system already in place with online ticket sales for groups? We would love for groups to go back into their account online, and pay their balance and add or subtract seats themselves.

Any ideas or systems that are already in place would really help us to advance further on this project.

Thank you,

Kristen

  • Hi Kristen,

We worked with JCA to develop an online group booking module.  Through it, groups can book their tickets online, make their deposit, and the payment plan is automatically set up on their order.  This helps to reduce the # of phone calls.  However, the module does not handle seat drops or increases nor does it allow for balance payment -- these are still done through our box office at this time.

The module does take into account some of our "rules" around group and school orders:  eg. regular groups (15+ tickets) get reduced pricing and 1 complimentary leader teach per each 20 purchased; "Starter" groups (10 - 14 tickets) get a reduced rate but not as much as regular groups; schools get student pricing and 1 chaperone ticket per 10, etc.  So different business rules are built into the module.

My former colleague presented on this module at a past conference and here is the link to her presentation: Online Education - includes video (32MB)

I'm happy to discuss the module with you further.
