Our consortium is moving toward a shared box office - selling tickets for multiple organizations at three separate venues - and the question has come up of how to handle printing tickets. For example, if the box office at venue 1 sells tickets to a performance at venue 2, should we have a separate printer with venue 2's ticket stock in order to print those tickets?
So... how are other organizations handling this?
Do you have multiple printers with ticket stock for each venue? Do you have one printer with generic stock? Is there a solution we haven't imagined?
Thank you for your insights!
It my organization, we sell for three other organizations. During period of September-April, we have the UMS season and the U-M School of Music, Theater and Dance season. We share ticket stock between these orgs. It's not the most exciting ticket stock as it's just one color but the info on the back covers both orgs. Then during the summer months, we sell for the Ann Arbor Summer Festival (A2SF). A2SF has different ticket stock. But at that time of the year, we can mostly switch all BOCAs over to that stock and when we need to print on other stock, we send the order to another BOCA (we have networked BOCAs).
So I'd recommend either shared stock or if that won't work, have networked BOCAs so that you can send a particular order to a specific BOCA with that ticket stock.
