Using Tessitura for Restaurant bookings

Hi,

Does anyone currently use Tessitura for Restaurant bookings - not just reserving a table, but selecting dishes from the menu, wines etc.? We have a set menu price, with a number of dishes that have supplements to add on.

Thanks,
Vanessa

  • Another option might be to use Flex packages - 1 flex package = complete dinner for 1 person with a performance for each part of the meal, i.e. Entrée, Main, Dessert, Wine.  Any extras in addition can be in another performance, perhaps?

You can then create the menu items by either using different facility sections, price zones or even price types as you see fit to accommodate as Joshua describes like Steak, Chicken, Salad etc.

Fees sound like a good option for add-ons but performances might be more suitable for T-Stats analysis.

    Cheers,

  • I'm also looking at this at the moment, although as a one off option to pre-pay for dining before a particular show.

The issue I have is that our restaurant require the bookings to be taken at staggered times. The only way I can think to do this is to have multiple dining 'events' set up at intervals before the show, with a small capacity on each. Has anyone got a way around this?

EDIT. The more I think about it, I do like the fee idea. It does mean recording tables on paper instead of tracking the numbers on Tessitura, but it's something I might propose. This forum is great!

  • Hi Rob,

We have a restaurant facility with multiple zones for the sittings and then within those zones have the maximum capacity for each time slot set up (we can then hold off spaces as needed). We do have to set them up as performances in Tessitura, and as they are reservations only we don't take payments.

Am happy to send you some screen shots if you want to take a look at our set up or discuss it with you at the UK conference if you are attending.

  • Thanks, it would be great to see what the facility looks like on screen.

For the restaurant option we've been asked to provide, we would be taking payment and selling this along with tickets. This means we would most likely be sending the customer a printed ticket for the dining (which is where the complication of displaying the time of the reservation comes in).

Yes, I'll be at the conference this week. It's my first one so I'm looking forward to it, we just got Tessitura here late last year.
