Do you have a Tessitura Guru-like position at your organization?

I'm curious to see if any organization has a specific job that is, for all intents and purposes, a Tessitura guru. Not someone who does the SQL and back end, but a trouble shooter who works inter-departmentally to insure Tessitura is being used to the best of its function. Someone who, for instance trains new users, coordinates lists and mailings/e-mails across departments, does set up for ticketed events/classes/anything that is sold, works between finance and ticketing/marketing to make sure things line up. And if you happen to have such a wiz, what is the title of this position?

Thanks

  • My role at Sydney Symphony is Marketing Manager - CRM and Database. I have a DBA that works for me, but I get called upon at a higher level to see that things are running smoothly with the database, and get out lots of analytics-type data. I also help with overseeing the large data extractions for subscription season and fundraising.

I don't do event setup or anything like that, though, because that has been the domain of the Box Office. But I think you'll find every organisation tends to to divide up its Tessitura work in subtly different ways.

I should add that in my previous role, I had to be the Tessitura guru for the organisation and DBA as well, which was invaluable experience, because it gave me a great insight into the possible ways data could be gotten out of Tessitura and helps me communicate well with our DBA.
