Constituent header not updating

At Bass Hall-Fort Worth, we are nearing the end of our Tessitura implementation.

A minor problem has appeared and we can’t find the resolution.

When importing legacy patron data into Tessitura, some household records in the legacy system contained only one member’s name.

In Tessitura, we want to display both members as the household name.

For example, the household name in the legacy system displayed “John Smith”.

We want to rename the household to “John and Mary Smith Household”.

In our “problem” record, we updated the Name field of the household to “John and Mary Smith Household”.

And, we updated the Salutation 1 field to “John and Mary Smith Household”.

The problem, for this one record, is the constituent header.

Despite updating the fields, the header record still displays “John Smith”.

Other functions, like searches or ticket records, display “John and Mary Smith Household”.

It is only the header that is not updated.

We updated other household records and the header record reflects the change.

Only this record that is misbehaving.  Are we missing something?

  • Wendell,

There is a special salutation format in TR_SALUTATION_FORMAT which is used for the header salutation.  If you go to system tables and look at the format table you should see a row with an id of 0 and that is what is used to formulate the header salutation using the tokens listed.  Check the 0 format to see what tokens are used the line 1 and line 2 of the format and make appropriate changes (check out the documentation for more details on how to use the tokens to formulate the salutation).  If you do not have a 0 row in the table check with your implementation specialist for assistance in getting that row added back into the table in the backend.

One important thing to keep in mind with the salutation format table is that it has three categories for which you have to populate data first is Single Name which is for individuals, Double Name which is for a household where the A1 and A2 have different last names, and Same Name which is for households where the last name is the same for the A1 and A2 constituents.  Each of the categories has several columns to fill for the several lines of the salutation and sort name data.  I believe the constituent header uses the L1 and L2 lines so you will want to make sure that for all the categories the L1 and L2 row are filled for that 0 salutation format.

    Best,

    Anna
