Unable to adjust a pledge

Hi

Our development department are trying to adjust a pledge, and getting the error "Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.tm_contribution'. This is happening as soon as you click on the pledge to begin the adjustment.

Any ideas? It's not happening on any others that we've tested.

Thanks

Siobhan

  • Have you closed and posted the batch that the pledge was originally in?  If so, I would recommend closing the batch you are in (without the adjustment) and starting over.

  • Hi Carol

This was something we tried and it made no difference. The original batch is closed and posted. Thanks for the tip anyway, I think it might be time to open a ticket...

  • Your DBA can run a query to see what is in TM_CONTRIBUTION (which batch has it locked and who owns that batch).

  • Sounds like it was in a controlled batch, and the contribution is stuck in the mirror table. Support will probably have to clear your mirror table and then you should be able to perform the adjustment.

  • Another way to see if the contribution is locked in another batch from the application is to open the contribution detail window from the constituent contributions tab.  If you see a number to the right of the media type field, this represents the current batch that is locking the contribution.
