BARCODES ON TICKETS

Hello all technical wunderkind...

I have a problem.  I have an event on sale both through our organisation and at Ticketmaster (Australia).  Because it's an outdoor event, access control would be an asset to use at the gate, I'm endeavouring to offer our barcodes to TM for them to import into their access control and all tickets will scan together enabling post event reporting and entry flow data.

All sounds good doesn't it.  Now the problem.  TM require either a Code 128 (numeric) or a 2/7 barcode.  Not a problem from Tessitura's end.  However, they require a 12 digit barcode only.  When I shorten the length of my barcode on my ticket down to just 12 char, the most generic part of the barcode is retained.

Can anybody tell me how I can get a 12 digit NON generic (left to right print) barcode onto my ticket so I can print this to match the TM 12 requirement?  Our export file can easily look to just the last 12 digits of the barcode produced so this is no issue...only how the barcode appears on a ticket.

Your advise would be very very much appreciated.

  • Hi Leslie.

We use a barcode within Tessitura, that we then pass on to Ticketmaster for any bowl events we have.

We have setup a user defined element for the barcode.  Essentially just making a large range of ‘ticket numbers’ to provide to Ticketmaster.

We then give them a report that shows them the barcode number, per seat.

They then import that into their system.

Not sure if you want that sort of path for what you’re trying to do though?

I can send you the report, as well, if you like?
