We are self hosted organization and tried to implement guest check out a couple years ago to our custom website.
We put project on hold, because it came with heavy dupes issues.
Could you share you experience, how you handle dirty/dupes data related to guest check out?
We are in Tessi 15.2.34. is it any changes related to Guest check out in Tessi 16?

We tried guest checkout but turned it off when we had people using it for the purchase of memberships, which really doesn't work for us.

One more area to consider for Guest check out process.
We are on TNEW V7; Tess V15. We just turned on Guest Checkout. Only for about a week so I can't give much feedback yet. We do have some onsales that require a MOS shift, so we are just making sure to link patrons to the login screen first. Merges are taking a bit longer, but nothing awful. We are on Tess Merchant Services and a RAMP client.

reconsider Guest Checkout option.
It is very useful to know about Merge process.
We had a heavy Merge process and set Guest checkout off couple years ago.
And the dupe issue is exactly why we DON'T use Guest Checkout. We already have enough duplicate issues as it is.
Previously in another role, we setup an auto merge procedure, based on 5 characters of first name, and full surname, post code (initially was 1 character of first name, and last name but we ran into issues with Deborah & David from the same address with the same surname!)Then this negated this issue with multiple accounts with different emails etc.
The only issue we ran into, was that you can't disable guest checkout on specific performances, so we had issues with digital content, so we had to turn it back off.
