I am running into problems with special characters not printing correctly on tickets...I'm working on Les Mis. I have followed the steps in the Ticket Design doc:
1. Entered the ASCII code. The web page the documentation links to shows the code is 130; this fixed the text in production elements. I also entered this on web content, which drives the title on our web page.
2. Changed the font to 13 on my ticket design.
3. Changed printer language to Multilingual - Latin 1 (850).
When I print the ticket, it shows as Les Misúrables, except the u is capitalized. On the web, it reads as Les MisÅ(c)rables...which makes me laugh, but doesn't help.
What am I doing wrong?
Kevin Sheehan recently updated the ticket design documentation and it has a section on special characters that might help. Here's the link: http://www.tessituranetwork.com/~/media/Documentation/Ticketing/Ticket_Design.ashx
Edited to add: Nevermind I just saw that you were using the doc to start with. I suggest opening a TASK ticket.
Hi Becci,
This sounds like a help ticket with Tessitura support and/or your printer manufacturer. Do you have Boca printers or some other brand? If you have some other brand the font recommendations may not be good.
As for the web side of things, you’ll probably have to talk to your web developer to find out how to pass special characters. You might have to use a different code for your web content entry. I’m not sure how HTML and other web coding works with ASCII codes.

Hi Jenn,
Thanks for posting the doc link. It looks like Becci already referenced the updated version, though, with no luck.
Becci, once you figure out the cause of your printing problems will you let me know (either directly or in this thread) so I can update the documentation as appropriate?
Thanks all!
Hi Kevin
I am trying to print a accented capital "E" and can only find the lower case ASCII code but not an upper case one. The link in this forum for your ticket design that mentions ASCII codes doesn't work. Is there a new link? I have not been able to find one.
Thank you
