Don't save my card!

Hello!

I have one patron that would like to never have their card saved to file. We have ourselves setup to save cards from TNEW and always save cards (tokens in our case) by default. Is there a way to suppress constituents from having their card saved? The deletion utility has a EXCLUSION list instead of inclusion so I can't just set that up to run forever.

Any ideas? This must come up elsewhere.

  • Hi Katie! We just went live with TMS in Pittsburgh and you can't save cards as the default anymore. On the web, the patron has to check the "save my card box" in the payment path for it to be tokenized. And in the client, cards are only marked for tokenization if 1. they are entered as part of a billing schedule (implied consent) 2. If they are entered in the Accounts button of the payment window (the assumption is that a patron's card being entered this was has consented to saving the card) or 3. in the constituent record on the transactions tab, credit card radial button. If a card is just entered into the payment window for a one time payment, it is not automatically stored. So, short answer, if you switch to TMS, you may not have to do what you're doing anymore, operators would just not save the card in a fashion that tokenizes it.
