Hello!
I have one patron that would like to never have their card saved to file. We have ourselves setup to save cards from TNEW and always save cards (tokens in our case) by default. Is there a way to suppress constituents from having their card saved? The deletion utility has a EXCLUSION list instead of inclusion so I can't just set that up to run forever.
Any ideas? This must come up elsewhere.
I forget, can you use lists with the card purge report?
Oops, right there in the text.
I have some recollection that the exclusion list isn't used in some modes? Look up the documentation to be sure. But you could consider using it: just set the list to be "not in the list the has the no store customers".
Hi Zach,
We have a constituent attribute called "Store Credit Cards" with Yes/No value. When patrons request that their cards not be saved, we set that attribute to No. Then, on a monthly basis we have the CC Tokenization & Deletion utility run with an exclusion list comprised of all patrons who don't have that attribute or have that attribute set to Yes. (This makes my brain hurt a little, but we've had this running for years and it does work. :))
Here's the list setup:
And the scheduled utility arguments:
Thank you! This is great!
Hello! Thanks for posting this info! Are you using Tess Merchant Services?
Hi Jane, no, we're not using Tess Merchant Services. Does this approach not work with TMS or do they have other functionality that could be used instead? I'd be interested to know that in case we make the switch. Thanks!
Hi Katie! We just went live with TMS in Pittsburgh and you can't save cards as the default anymore. On the web, the patron has to check the "save my card box" in the payment path for it to be tokenized. And in the client, cards are only marked for tokenization if 1. they are entered as part of a billing schedule (implied consent) 2. If they are entered in the Accounts button of the payment window (the assumption is that a patron's card being entered this was has consented to saving the card) or 3. in the constituent record on the transactions tab, credit card radial button. If a card is just entered into the payment window for a one time payment, it is not automatically stored. So, short answer, if you switch to TMS, you may not have to do what you're doing anymore, operators would just not save the card in a fashion that tokenizes it.
Awesome! Thanks, Katie Springer!
